'Natural' leaders are rare. Most of us learn by experience. The exciting thing about leading a team is that once the simple key concepts are put into practice, leadership becomes second nature. This course gives participants an insight into their own strengths and shows them how to recognise and acknowledge the strengths of other team members. It establishes the need for building trust and demonstrates techniques for doing so. How to decide upon the level of supervision and control necessary in different situations and with different types of employee will be the subject of discussion and 'Realplay demonstration' exercises.
The focus is on leadership rather than managing, and on building effective committed teams rather than "functional" groups.
Of a good leader, when the work is done and the task completed they will say “We did this ourselves."
