Mediation : Sessions
Mediation Stages
Typically, mediation programmes are likely to include the following elements: -
- Initial meetings with each party to assist the parties in exploring and clarifying the issues and feelings involved and to consider mediation as a positive option in resolving their difficulties.
- Joint meetings to facilitate the parties concerned in building workable agreements about the future and in developing an increased mutual understanding of their ongoing working relationship.
- Interact constructively, as mediator, while demonstrating absolute impartiality, at all levels, within the client organization.
- Evaluate the mediation process and the contribution and results of all the parties involved with a view to improving the organizations in-house mediation processes so as to achieve higher standards.
- Finally, ensure that the parties involved recognize that that they have developed techniques, through their experience of mediation, which will have applications in all aspects of their work.
